Top 8 Wellness Trends For 2018 – The Year We Replace Stress With Self-Care

In 2017 we saw tremendous growth in health and wellness, and it’s only going to continue in 2018. Gradually people have started to accept more alternative wellness into their daily habits, and that’s only going to increase throughout the year.

In 2018 there will be a shift towards mindfulness and wholistic wellness, and we couldn’t be happier. The more people who join this mindfulness train of ours, the better! We’re also going to see the definition of “wellness” broaden to include mental and spiritual wellness in addition to physical wellness.

Here are the Top 8 Wellness Trends for 2018

Ring in the new year by shifting to focus on you. All of you. From your mind and heart to your physical body. Here are the top 8 wellness trends in 2018 that’ll help you make that happen.

1. Zero-Commitment Fitness Experiences

We get it. Busy schedules make it hard to commit to a fitness regimen, let alone a gym or studio. But with services like ClassPass gaining momentum that let you work out all over town on your schedule, you won’t feel like you’re locked into a particular studio or gym. In 2018, look out for more opportunities to curate your own fitness experience.

2. Mindfulness and Energy Healing

It’s about damn time. With all the sh*t that went down in 2017, in 2018 wellness will take a turn for the metaphysical. Look for more energy healing shops popping up that offer regular mindfulness, meditation, and Yoga Nidra sessions, as well as Reiki Healing, Crystal Healing, Sound Healing, breathwork, and more. Get ready to be blissed the f*ck out.

3. All-Inclusive Wellness Getaways

Think: yoga retreat on steroids. People want to conveniently get away, turn off their phones, and tune out the world . . . at least for a weekend. Considering the popularity of already-existing yoga and meditation weekend retreats, wellness getaways are going to up their game in 2018. Look for all-inclusive flight, accommodations, food, and activity wellness retreats.

4. Natural Beauty Products

When it comes to what you eat, you’ve already switched to natural, organic, great-for-you foods to heal your body from the inside-out. So why not apply that kind of thinking to your beauty products? Do you know about all the nasty chemicals lurking in your beauty products? 2018 is the year we ditch harmful chemicals for good.

5. Media Detoxes

We’ve started to learn just how addicting the media we consume can be, and we’re ready to detox the sh*t out of it. Our 2018 wellness will include way more than sweating buckets at the gym – we’ll also be participating in social media, TV, and phone detoxes.

6. Lots of Gut-Talk

The discussion around your gut is only going to become more prominent in 2018 wellness circles. Healing from the inside-out is in, and we’re becoming more aware that what we eat directly affects how we feel. Prebiotics, probiotics, collagen, bacteria, flora . . . get ready to see these words a lot.

7. Body Positivity

Seriously, f*ck the haters. And f*ck a “standard” beauty type. We’re all equally beautiful, and our differences make us unique and interesting. In 2018, fewer people will subscribe to the idea that there is only one definition of beauty. Instead we’ll celebrate all shapes, sizes, colors, beliefs, identifications, and abilities.

8. Catching Zzzz’s

After anxiety-inducing 2017, let’s all take a collective nap to start 2018, shall we? In 2018 we’ll start taking sleep more seriously, because we know that it’s not “cool” anymore to be so busy that we don’t sleep, eat, or take care of ourselves. We know that sleep reduces anxiety, allows our body to restore itself, and balances our hormones.

We’re excited to see these trends take off in 2018, because together they make for a more inclusive, accepting, and compassionate world. After all, when we are each individually grounded in our truth, it makes it easier for us to accept others exactly as they are.

Happy 2018, everybody!
