Yoga to Manage Physical Pain During Cancer Treatment (Video Series)
This month, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, YouAligned™ has teamed up with Grokker.com to feature a 4-part video series called “Grit, Grace, and Gratitude” on yoga for cancer care. Please join us as we welcome Sierra Campbell, a yoga therapist and cancer survivor who offers helpful, compassionate guidance on your journey to cancer recovery using yoga. Sierra invites viewers to think of this practice as a way of tuning into – and gaining control over – your inner alchemy. In the name of Breast Cancer Awareness, and in the name of your health, let’s get started!
Your body goes through significant changes during cancer treatment; changes that can be painful and disheartening. Thus, it is important now more than ever to take care of yourself and give your body what it needs. In this video, Sierra Campbell addresses ways to help manage and alleviate your pain before, during, and after surgery and other treatments. She also acknowledges the importance of maintaining a positive mind state, and offers methods of maintaining positivity and remaining open to healing.
You will gently be guided through a series of supported stretches aimed at targeting specific areas of pain, tension, and tightness. You will also learn how to follow the breath and use conscious, deep breathing to help ease the pain and bring yourself to deeper levels of relief and relaxation.
YouAligned™ would like to thank Grokker.com and Sierra Campbell for providing an educational and compassionate yoga for cancer video series for Breast Cancer Awareness month. We hope that you enjoyed this series, and we invite you to share it with anyone you feel would benefit. The biggest takeaway from this yoga for cancer series is that you are not alone. We are all connected through our yoga community, and through that connection, we hope you find a sense of peace, comfort, and support.
