Here’s How to Exercise Your NO Muscle and Set Healthy Boundaries (Video)
Iyanla VanZant was one of the first inspirational speakers that truly changed my life with her teachings. I remember sitting in the audience as she spoke about exercising your “no muscle.” By this she meant saying no to anything that doesn’t serve you – doing someone a favor, going out, working overtime . . . you get the picture.
As a total empath, this was an entirely new concept to me – how could I exercise this so-called “no muscle” without hurting other people’s feelings?!
Saying no is so empowering.
You know what I found after putting my “no muscle” to the test? Saying no is so empowering. And not just a “I’m so sorry but no and here’s why.” I’m talking about an unapologetic, empowered hell-to-the-no without feeling the need to explain yourself.
So What Does a “No Muscle” Have to Do With Setting Healthy Boundaries?
Because you matter.
And when you can speak your personal truth and be authentic in saying no when something doesn’t serve you, you raise your vibration. You change the script. You affirm how much your own feelings and wellbeing matter. You stop letting other people, circumstances, or experiences bring you down.
You take control of your life! You start standing for what you believe in, and you do it on your terms. This is the power of exercising your “no muscle.”
You stand in your NO and for your YES. -Iyanla VanZant
Iyanla VanZant sums it up best: “You’ve got to say no to the things that don’t honor you, NO to the things that don’t bring you joy, NO to the things that don’t bring you peace, and you don’t have to explain your no!!”
Take It From Iyanla VanZant – Set Healthy Boundaries and Start LIVING Your Life!
