Full Splits, Hanumanasana, Front Splits, Monkey Pose . . . whatever name you like to call this pose doesn’t change how uniquely challenging it is.

Yoga Class
With Courtney Fox

Want a brief glimpse into what to expect during this workshop-style online yoga class? You’ll work on all the flexibility and mobility gains as you move bit by bit to warm up and open up your body for full Hanumanasana.

You’ll start on your back for some gentle hamstrings stretches with the assistance of a yoga strap or a towel to slowly ease your body toward your peak pose. Then you’ll hop up into a quick Downward Facing Dog to pedal out your feet and warm up your calves and hamstrings some more.

Next, you’ll flow through a few slow and easy Sun Salutations to warm-up your full body before moving into more targeted stretches and poses like Pyramid, Lunges, Half Splits, and more.

Move on to a few more standing poses like Standing Splits, Triangle, and Wide-Legged Standing Forward Fold to really open your hips and hamstrings for what’s to come.

If you’re willing to put in the time and commitment that it takes to reach Hanumanasana, then you’ll be rewarded for your efforts.

Then build some heat and strength within your open joints with some more standing postures like Extended Hand-to-Big Toe Pose before working your way to the ground to finish up with some final seated forward folds before exploring your peak pose of Front Splits.

When you’re all warm and ready, dive into some deep exploration of full Hanumanasana. But don’t worry if you’re not quite there yet!

Courtney effortlessly guides you through plenty of options and variations (with props and without) of every pose so whether you’re an Olympic gymnast or more of a stiff rod, you’ll have a place to work in this workshop-style practice!
