This Woman Saved a Happy Meal in Her Desk for 6 Years (Pictures)

fast food from 2010 article
It’s estimated that the average person is exposed to over 5,000 advertisements a day, and many of these ads are for processed or fast foods.
While as a yogi, you probably make healthy food choices overall, sometimes it is just easier to have a quick bite on the road.
If you’re one of us who has a guilty pleasure in the name of fast food, this story just might be enough to cure you of your bad habit for good.
Earlier this year, an Anchorage, Alaska resident, Jennifer Lovdahl, posted a picture of an ancient Happy Meal (circa 2010) on her Facebook page. What she discovered about the six-year-old Happy Meal is not the mold, decay, and rot that you might imagine. Take a look for yourself. . .
Instead, she found what looked like a perfectly preserved Happy Meal with fries and chicken nuggets that look like they came fresh from your local McDonald’s. It didn’t even smell! We can all agree that food that does not undergo the natural effects of time is a huge cause for concern.
A release from McDonald’s stated that the meal didn’t show signs of mold because the foods are dehydrated and dehydrated foods do not produce mold or show visible signs of deterioration. While this may or may not be true, after seeing this image, do you really want to put this food in your body? Is it really any surprise that the meal didn’t rot?
This woman did this eye-opening experiment to teach patients at her and her husband’s chiropractic office about nutrition. This “food” is full of preservatives and too many artificial ingredients and chemicals to count, especially for ourselves and our families.
So, here’s a friendly reminder: fast food isn’t really food! There are plenty of healthy “fast” options, such as apples, bananas, carrots, celery and other fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, seeds and nuts, yogurt and beans. Choose real food and cherish your health and vitality.
Real food would rot – and that’s a good thing!! It’s up to you to make a choice – do you want to eat like your body is a temple, or eat like your body is a garbage disposal?
