Why Russell Brand Thinks Trump Winning Is a Good Thing (Video)

With all the controversy and conflict that have arisen from this most recent election, there is one thing that just about everyone can agree on: it has shown us all something about ourselves and the state of America that we can’t un-see.
Regardless of what opinion you hold, it seems that we finally hit a point where we are all are ready to admit that we are not satisfied with the way things are going.
It could be that you felt that one of our main candidates was a criminal, or that the other was a blatant racist, sexist, and ignoramus.
It could be that you thought neither were fit to run your country. It may be that the Electoral College system is no longer satisfactory to you in the way it overrides the popular vote.
Our individual issue with this election could be moral, emotional, practical, economic, political, or a combination of all of these.
The first, most important thing to remember about the circus that has become our political system is that WE CREATED IT.
One thing is certain, this election was a true turning point. Maybe you think it’s our lowest low. Maybe you feel it is finally a time that the government as we know it is going to change. Or, maybe you think it was both…
Is there a light in darkness?
Here’s what Russell Brand has to say on the matter:
To Summarize – We Created This
The first, most important thing to remember about the circus that has become our political system is that WE CREATED IT. I mean this at both the practical level of cause and effect, but also at the deeper level, where everything we experience outside of us is but a reflection of what is inside of us.
Any time you hold a vision for something you want to be, or how you want your life to be, this automatically triggers anything that is holding you back from achieving that potential from the murky depths of your unconscious. This is one of the most important laws about growth and evolution.
The vision is there. The intention is set. But now we get to deal with that which has been holding us back from manifesting this vision.
For example: if you strive to be more of a kind person, this automatically triggers a process of working through things like your anger, your tendency to lash out at people, or the tendency to project onto others and hurt them in the process.
It’s a universal law.
And this is good! Well it’s at least good in the sense that this is the only true way to grow and become what you want to become.
You can’t stuff all the limitations and ugliness that holds you back and expect to move past it. You have to move through it, integrate it, and overcome it.
This is exactly what is happening in our country right now!
How many of us, from all walks of life have been holding a vision; an expectation of a better world and a better country?
We have been pushing for equal rights, ethical treatment of animals, fair trade practices, more respect for our natural resources, green energy, the cessation of war and violence overseas, reform of the way our economy is run, the way healthcare works, and so much more!
The vision is there. The intention is set. But now we get to deal with that which has been holding us back from manifesting this vision.
We don’t get to magically have it how we want without dealing with our shit first. And what better manifestation of our collective shit as a country than a sexist, racist, ignorant, unaware, entitled billionaire, ex-reality TV show star being in charge of our government?
It’s time to take responsibility America. Even you, the person who swears you’ve had nothing to do with it. Because in taking this responsibility, you give yourself the power to make a change.
