Delicious Vanilla Chai Protein French Toast Recipe (Video)

Let’s make a delicious vanilla chia protein french toast!
As athletes, yogis, and individuals committed to living a healthy lifestyle, we’re also aware of the importance of getting enough protein in our diet. Protein gives your brain the dose of amino acids it needs to function optimally. Incorporating protein into your breakfast can optimize your brain’s ability to communicate with the rest of your body, and keep things operating smoothly.
Studies have shown that eating protein in the morning helps keep you fuller longer. Plus, if you combine protein with carbohydrates, you will give your body even more lasting, sustained energy throughout the day.
We chose to use PlantFusion’s Organic Plant Protein in this recipe for its wealth of health benefits. Not only does this plant protein pack 20 grams into a serving with zero grams of sugar (it’s sweetened with organic stevia), it also contains an organic blend of fermented, sprouted food. Fermented foods are incredibly healthy because, just like kombucha or Greek yogurt, they contain living cultures that improve digestive health and in the case of protein, help the body better break down and absorb it.
With all this talk about breakfast, we’re getting hungry! So without further ado, let’s get cooking!

Ingredients for a delicious and nutritious protein french toast breakfast:
(Recipe yields four french toast slices. For two slices, cut the ingredients in half. For eight slices, double the ingredients)
- 4 slices of bread (video features gluten-free, but you can use any bread of your choice)
- 2 eggs
- ¾ scoop PlantFusion Organic Plant Protein (or substitute with protein type of your choice)
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 tsp. vanilla almond milk (or milk of your choice)
Mix all ingredients together in a dish deep enough to dip your bread in. Once the ingredients are mixed into a smooth consistency (small chunks are ok), dip each slice of bread into the batter until the bread is entirely covered.
Place the battered bread on a greased griddle heated to 350 degrees, or on a greased frying pan on medium-high heat. Cook for 2-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown (time varies based on thickness of bread).
Finish it off with your favorite toppings!
For a fresh and fruity flair, top your protein french toast with:
- ½ cup fresh blueberries
- ½ cup fresh strawberries
For a yummy and savory addition, top your protein french toast with:
- ⅓ cup shredded coconut
- 2tbsp. peanut or almond butter
Viola! A simple, satisfying and delicious breakfast (or pre-/post-workout snack) that packs in the protein and other essential nutrients for a great start to your day. We love PlantFusion’s Organic Plant Protein.
