As a spiritual life and business coach, I have been fortunate to attend several of Tony’s events, including Unleash the Power Within and Business Mastery. I know firsthand the value of his words, actions and strategies for helping you live your best life.

In an interview with Success Magazine, Tony said that the key to having the best year of your entire life is to have a vision.

1. Create Your Vision

Having a clear vision of what you want is an absolute priority. If you don’t know where you’re going, how can you head there? That would be like driving to New Mexico from New York with no map and no GPS!

When you create a powerful vision, it gives you a specific idea of where you want to end up, and you can reverse engineer the path to get there.

What is a vision? A vision is an idea of where you want to go and a roadmap to get there. Decide what it is you feel called to. What lights you up? What do you want to create with your life? These are great questions to help you tap into a powerful vision that you feel pulled toward.
 

2. Create a Mission Greater Than Yourself

We have all struggled with life’s challenges. Figure out what you can do that is larger than yourself. When you create something that’s bigger than yourself, it gives you the energy and drive to see it through.
 

Find something that you feel drawn to that also helps others and increases the vibration of this planet. This mission will be what pulls you towards living your best life!

 
For me, it was becoming a life and business coach. I knew that my corporate job was not only doing myself a disservice, but not allowing me to give my best self to others. Becoming a coach helped me create a meaningful life and also helped me help others create massive shifts in their lives, so the ripple effect is much larger than just me.

3. Feed Your Mind Nourishing Food

What is feeding your mind? It means bringing in new information – and not just new information, but new GOOD information.

Our minds have the tendency to recycle the same old thoughts, beliefs, emotions. Is this helping us? Maybe sometimes, but most often not.

So, the key is to feed our minds with really good things that challenge us, make us aware, and inspire us.

This could be podcasts, books, new conversations with people that stretch our comfort zone. On his website, Tony recommends such power-packed books as Principles by Ray Dahlio and As a Man Thinketh by James Allen.

4. Stay Consistently Active

Not everyone wants to run a marathon or bike 30 miles. I get it. But exercise is a MUST to live your best life. So the key is to find something you LOVE to do. This could be yoga, pilates, taking a group HIIT class or getting a personal trainer if you don’t like a group setting.

Getting your physical body right will set the stage for how you feel mentally and emotionally. When I don’t workout, I 100% feel the difference in how I show up daily in my life.

5. Get Into State

Tony Robbins talks a lot about “getting into state” in his live seminars. Getting into state or creating a state change can put you in the mental place you need to be to accomplish anything you desire.

According to Tony Robbins, having passion, purpose, and focused determination towards a goal is what creates peak state. Furthermore, when challenges arise, you bounce back from them. You don’t let any setback knock you down for long. You just keep getting back up and in doing so you put yourself in this optimum state to keep on going.

Getting into state can be a cold shower, a powerful breathing exercise such as circular breathing, using guided meditations or a visualization to picture yourself achieving your goals. When you activate yourself in this way, you create energy by shifting your mindset into a place of high vibe positivity.

In doing these practices, we get our mind and body into a state that says “I’m READY!” These techniques will help you feel more confident, energized and ready to truly seize the day.
 

6. Get Out of the Mind and Into the Body

Getting into your body means operating from an activated state. Similar to getting into state from #5, getting into the body means acting from that place. Creating your dream life means getting into the body and shifting your biochemistry.

Tony Robbins says it doesn’t start with the mind because that’s the weakest part to start with. Instead, he starts with the body. “If I change your biochemistry, if I do it consistently day and night, it becomes your new norm, and in your new norm, sparks happen.”

When you do this, you begin to shift how you experience everything, literally! Your mind will keep you paralyzed if you let it. Focus on continuing to shift your energy, your thoughts, and your body to truly create the movement you want in your life.
 

7. Change Your Experience

If you can’t change your actual circumstances, change your experience of them. This is all about your mindset. Tony Robbins speaks highly about how many books he read when he was challenged from his physical environment.
 

You can either create your experience or let the experience create you.

 
Books like Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl allow you to understand that you dictate what you experience from life – not the actual environment you reside in. This is very powerful and something I teach many of my clients.

8. Be Real and Raw

This is magic. People don’t want to hear the surface level of your story, your thoughts, your emotions or whatever it is. People want to know the deep deep rawness of who you are.

Whether you’re a coach or a substitute teacher, be radically authentic. Be unequivocally you. The deeper you show up as yourself, the better the world will receive you. That is a fact, Jack.

Tony Robbins teaches that you should consciously decide who you want to be, who you are, and be spontaneous in the process. He discusses this concept on a Super Soul Sunday episode with Oprah.


 

9. Be FEARLESS

When you eliminate your fear, you make all things possible. Fear is often equal to False Evidence Appearing Real. When you begin to realize that fear is not actually real, you can be more courageous, more authentic, and step faster and further in the direction you want your life to go.

10. Get a Mentor

“If you want the best year of your life, you need to decide to find a great role model,” Robbins says in Success Magazine.

The benefit of doing this, is that having someone to look up to, a certain place or a goal that they’ve achieved, will always push you and grow you more than you will on your own. The added benefit of having someone to guide you throughout this process is truly unprecedented.

It is easy for us to think we can do it all on our own, but this could delay making our dreams reality. Find someone who’s already achieved what you want to become, and ask them to be your mentor. There is no shortage of inspirational people willing to share their experience and wisdom to help others.
 

11. Focus On What Excites You

This life is a gift that we get to experience. It is magical and must be treated as such. When you visualize a future that truly excites you, you actively change your life. You create a beautiful, magnetic pull towards what’s possible.

That in and of itself will keep you going, keep you rising early, and keep you on the path of overcoming challenges and cultivating beauty in your life day after day and year after year.
