The Music Video to That Song Called “Yoga”

If you haven’t already heard of it, there’s a catchy new song out there titled “Yoga” by Janelle Monáe. While there’s admittedly not much talk about yoga within the song (or music video for that matter), it’s guaranteed to get stuck in your head. You might even bust a move… Yeah, I bet you will…
 
Yet at its core, I must admit I’m a bit disappointed in this song. When you first hear it, you’ll get so excited that there’s a catchy song dedicated to yoga. But once you’ve taken a good listen, you’ll be sad to realize the artist basically cashed in on a popular term without taking the time to even talk about the practice behind it! (“Baby bend over,” “with my black yoga pants on,” and “let me see you do that yoga” are as close as she gets to discussing yoga. Sad face.)
 
Get ready for a super random, totally bizarre, and a bit ridiculous music video. It’s proof that yoga has definitely become Americanized.
