Yoga + Martial Arts Merge in this Powerful Practice of Budokon (Video)
Budokon // Yoga + Martial Arts from Aydın Özer on Vimeo.
Yoga and martial arts may not seem related, but both disciplines focus on intentional movement and harnessing energy (in the form of chi, qi, or prana). These two practices overlap in Budokon.
Budokon is getting the attention of yogis and athletes alike because it is one part power and one part spirit. This mind-body exercise is primal, intuitive, and powerful. Budokon truly shows the capabilities of a body given permission to explore its potential.
As we evolve, we also create, and Budokon is a beautiful example of one man’s passion and curiosity.
What is Budokon?
Budokon was founded in 2001 by yogi, fighter, and all around badass, Cameron Shayne. This fluid practice is based on “mixed movement arts sciences,” combining calisthenics, meditation, martial arts, and yoga (asanas), and the all-too-interesting practice of Animal Locomotion (essentially, primal movement that emulates animal movements).
The primal movements and intentional warrior-like energy are sure to empower your mind, body, and soul. And this video will show you why you should give it a try.
